Margaret Ringler is NACDL's Project Coordinator for the Full Disclosure Project. She is responsible for engaging, preparing, and supporting defense organizations in setting up databases to track police misconduct as well as creating a resource library and assisting in jurisdiction-specific research. She joined NACDL in 2020 after building grassroots organizing power at Community Change, advancing campaigns to end money bail at the Pretrial Justice Institute, and investigating at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.
Outside of her role at NACDL, Margaret shifts narratives about safety facilitating alternatives to calling the police workshops, joined Showing Up for Racial Justice to mobilize white people into intersectional alliances, and organizes for the equitable redistribution of wealth. During COVID she is engaged in the art of maintaining connection across distance and the mystery of how to keep her houseplants alive.
