Michigan Attorney Ashish S. Joshi Elected to National Criminal Defense Bar Assn. Board of Directors

Washington, DC (August 14, 2015) – Michigan attorney Ashish S. Joshi was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) at the Association's 58th annual meeting in Denver, CO, on July 26. He had previously served on the Board of Directors from 2012-15, and he serves on NACDL's White Collar committee.

Mr. Joshi is the Managing Partner of Lorandos Joshi P.C., where his practice focuses on white-collar criminal defense, complex commercial & business litigation, and cross-border investigations & litigation with a focus on Southeast Asia. His unique background, including graduate and professional degrees in accounting and securities and substantial litigation experience in India and in the US, has also provided him an edge in international commercial disputes resolution and litigation with a specific focus on Indian subcontinent.

Mr. Joshi is a member of the bars of New York, Michigan, District of Columbia, and the Supreme Court of the United States and has been admitted and practiced law as an advocate in the State of Gujarat, India. Mr. Joshi is a prolific writer, published in multiple legal journals, including NACDL’s Champion magazine, for which he serves on the Advisory Board. He also serves as the Executive Editor for the Litigation journal for the ABA Section of Litigation, and is involved in the ABA's pro bono legal services for unaccompanied immigrant minors through the Michigan Immigration Rights Center.

He is also a frequent lecturer in continuing legal education courses and has served as an adjunct professor at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan.

Mr. Joshi is fluent in English, Gujarati, and Hindi.

    Nation’s Defense Bar Reiterates Opposition to Actions Against Law Firms – Washington, DC (March 18, 2025)

    The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) remains deeply concerned over recent executive orders targeting law firms, most recently Paul Weiss and Perkins Coie, and repeats its call to uphold the right to counsel and the independence of the legal profession. Despite a ruling blocking the action against Perkins Coie, the administration has continued to target law firms representing disfavored clients and positions, threatening the right to a zealous defense.
