Washington, DC (Nov. 15, 2018) – On Nov. 6, 2018, Election Day, Candace Crouse, a past member of NACDL’s Board of Directors and Vice Chair of NACDL’s Amicus Curiae Committee, was elected to serve as a Judge on the First District Court of Appeals in Ohio.

Candace Crouse started her career in Cincinnati after spending two years clerking for a federal district court judge in Wheeling, West Virginia. For the past several years, her practice has been at the Cincinnati-based firm of Pinales Stachler Young Burrell & Crouse Co., LPA. Candace has litigated criminal cases at both the trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Law and is on the faculty of the National Criminal Defense College. She was recently selected by Best Lawyers®, as ”2019 Cincinnati Lawyer of the Year” Criminal Defense: White Collar.
Candace earned her J.D. from The Ohio State University College of Law, where she was a managing editor of The Ohio State Law Journal and a member of the Civil Rights Moot Court team.
